Ben is a Chartered Accountant with more than 35 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector, having commenced his career in the Trust Department of a Private Bank in Jersey in 1982. Ben transferred into the Accountancy sector in his 20’s and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993.
After developing his career with the offshore Trust Companies of Deloitte and Ernst & Young, where Ben was the off shore representative of both the Firm’s UK and US National tax functions, Ben left the Accountancy World to establish Dominion in 2001.
The move to establish Dominion was prompted by the SEC requiring the Big Accountancy Firms to exit the Fiduciary Business due to perceived conflicts of interest between Trust Company and Audit clients. Within both Deloitte and latterly Ernst & Young, Ben developed a particular expertise in the area of International Compensation and Benefit Planning for Private and Publicly owned businesses using Trusts, Pensions and Corporate structures. Ben is also an acknowledged expert in the area of International structuring for Ultra High Net Worth private clients, with Ben leading Dominion’s research and development function which creates innovative wealth planning strategies for UHNWI based in the World’s major economies.
Ben is a graduate of Leeds University, a Member of the Trust and Estates Planning Institute and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Ben is a keen sportsman and takes part in various long distance cycling and other sporting events in Europe.
