Mike is Dominion’s General Counsel and is based in our Jersey office.
Mike started his legal career at Allen Allen & Hemsley (now Allens Arthur Robinson) in Sydney in 1995, prior to the BlackBerry being invented. He moved to London in 1998 to work in the general banking department at Clifford Chance. Mike moved to Jersey in 2003, and prior to joining Dominion, was a partner at both Mourant Ozannes and Collas Crill.
Mike has accumulated considerable experience in a diverse range of corporate and banking and finance transactions.
The corporate areas in which Mike has advised include structured payment arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, large corporate migrations (including FTSE100 and 250 companies), joint ventures and shareholder arrangements (including shareholder disputes), cashbox issues, group restructurings, securities issues (both private placements and public offerings) and corporate governance.
The banking and finance areas in which Mike has advised include acquisition and leveraged finance, asset finance, real estate finance, debt security and structured product issues (including note programmes, securitisations, preference share platforms and actively managed certificates) and debt restructuring and security enforcement. He also has significant experience in Islamic finance structures, including murabaha and ijara structures and sukuk issuances.
Mike’s business philosophy is to quickly get to the point, keep things simple and focus on the steps that are critical to getting things done.
When he is away from the office, Mike fancies himself as an armchair cricket pundit. He also likes to keep fit so that he can pursue his two passions of dining out and teasing his daughters.
